KeralaSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) is planning to install GPRS based Electronic Ticket Machine in all Transport Buses across Kerala.
After a detailed quality inspection of the Machines, KeralaSRTC has given order for around 4000 Machines. Tickets will be distributed via these Machines next month onwards.
Since this Machine is connected to the main server via GPRS, it is easy to collect trip details, income from the trips, and along with that, depends on the income it is easy to make changes to trip schedule. By introducing this machine KSTRC can block the selling of fake tickets. Cost of a Machine is around Rs 9500.
